FAQs
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon. If the tour is cancelled due to poor visibility or weather, you will typically be offered the chance to rebook for the next night at no extra cost. If the tour goes out but no lights are seen, most operators provide a complimentary “re-run” ticket valid for a future date or your next stay.
Yes. Starting in late 2026, travelers from visa-exempt countries (like the US, Canada, and the UK) will likely need an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) approval before entering Iceland. This is a quick online process. Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel date
The water stays at a consistent 37–40°C (98–104°F) year-round, regardless of the freezing air temperature outside. The milky-blue color comes from high levels of silica, algae, and minerals. Pro-tip: Apply plenty of the provided conditioner to your hair before entering, as the silica can make it feel stiff for a few days!
While the lead price is based on two adults sharing, solo travelers are welcome. A single supplement fee will apply to cover the cost of the private hotel room. The guided tours are a great way to meet other travelers while exploring
Think layers. You’ll need a thermal base layer (merino wool is best), an insulating mid-layer (fleece or wool sweater), and a waterproof/windproof outer shell. Sturdy, waterproof hiking boots with good grip are essential for icy Reykjavik pavements and trail paths.
Modern smartphones with a dedicated “Night Mode” (like the latest iPhone or Samsung models) can actually capture the lights quite well! However, for professional-grade photos, a DSLR camera with a tripod and a long exposure setting is recommended.
This package includes daily breakfast at your hotel. Lunch and dinner are not included, giving you the freedom to explore Reykjavik’s world-class dining scene—ranging from famous Icelandic hot dog stands to high-end Nordic fusion restaurants.
Yes! Your itinerary includes two free days specifically for this purpose. Popular additions include the South Coast (for black sand beaches), Glacier Hiking, or the Golden Circle. We recommend booking these at least 4 weeks in advance to ensure availability during the peak Northern Lights season
